Dr. Jacqueline Abdalla grew up in New Jersey and pursued her medical education at Rutgers Medical School. With a focus on women's health and procedures, she completed her residency in family medicine at UCSF's Sutter Santa Rosa. Afterward, she served as the sole physician at a small FQHC in Winters, CA, focusing on primary care and obstetrics. In 2019, she joined Sacramento County Health Services, starting as a proceduralist at the Primary Care Clinic. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she transitioned to working at the Sacramento County jail, where she became Assistant Medical Director overseeing the care of approximately 3200 adults in custody. In this role, she played a pivotal part in implementing the Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) program, overcoming numerous barriers in order to effectively treat those suffering with substance use disorders.
