Speaker Bio
Ms. Amy Stratton is an Activity Therapist at Augusta State Medical Prison and has worked there for 16 years. She works with people that have dementia and/or traumatic brain injuries. She uses cognitive stimulation therapy to prolong their abilities and help the justice-involved individual feel understood and comfortable using questions without right or wrong answers, helping each individual feel as if they know what's going on, and feel less lost in their world. Her goal is to help people learn more about dementia and what to look for in the prison setting or any setting for that matter, so people with these problems aren't taken advantage of.
