Dr. Deborah Shelton is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, cofounder and first president of the American Correctional Nurses Association, and cofounder of the Center 4 Correctional Nursing. An accomplished clinician, educator, and researcher, she has dedicated her career to advancing correctional nursing practice, workforce development, and education. Dr. Shelton has authored more than 150 publications and delivered numerous presentations nationally and internationally. Her work has been cited in more than 50 countries and has significantly influenced the development of correctional nursing as a specialty. She currently serves as an independent consultant and expert focused on correctional nursing leadership and research.
