Dr. Wence Asonganyi serves as director of health services administration for the New Mexico Corrections Department, where he provides executive leadership for health care administration, strategic planning, and clinical innovation across the state's correctional health care system. Dr. Asonganyi has extensive experience in correctional health care administration in the United States and internationally. He has led initiatives to expand access to evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder, modernize electronic health records, implement Medicaid Section 1115 reentry services, strengthen quality improvement programs, and improve health outcomes for justice-involved populations. Dr. Asonganyi has presented at regional workshops and national conferences on correctional health care, quality improvement, program evaluation, implementation science, opioid use disorder treatment, health care technology, and correctional health policy. His work focuses on translating evidence into practice through innovative care delivery, rigorous program evaluation, and system-level transformation.
