Ms. Sue Smith is a correctional nurse educator, author, and cofounder of the American Correctional Nurses Association. She serves as a research associate with the Center for Correctional Nursing. Smith is an active member of the American Nurses Association, the Association for Nursing Professional Development, and the Ohio Nurses Association. She chairs the Program Committee of the American Correctional Nurses Association and . She has served on the workgroup that revised the Scope and Standards of Correctional Nursing, developed educational presentations, and authored numerous journal articles on correctional nursing practice. Her honors include the inaugural Margaret Collatt Service Award, the DAISY Award for Nursing Leadership, the Ohio Nurses Association Award for Excellence in a Nontraditional Nursing Role, and induction into the Dorothy Cornelius Leadership Congress.
