Description

Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based modality that was created to treat borderline personality disorder but has been found to be effective for a wide array of conditions. In corrections, it is used to treat anger and aggressive behaviors, chronic self-harm and suicide attempts, substance abuse, personality disorders, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. This presentation will explain the potential impact of DBT in correctional settings as well as the ripple effects in society.
