Supported by a partnership between the Washington State Department of Corrections and the University of Washington School of Nursing, the project established a protocol for treating chronic pain and training DOC clinicians who are preceptors for advanced practice students in the doctor of nursing program. With content area experts from the School of Medicine and the DOC's clinical leadership team, students completed CP-focused doctoral projects that form the core of the CP protocol.
