Mr. Jim Martin is the chief operating officer of Physician Correctional, USA. He worked in law enforcement for over 22 years, serving as a lieutenant and assistant jail commander with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office in southern Indiana. His daily duties included serving as the command staff liaison for the jail's medical unit and the county's mental health task force. During his career with the Sheriff's Office, he worked in motor patrol, as a K-9 handler, as a supervisor in the jail and the courts, and as an investigator in the Professional Standards Unit. He holds a bachelor's degree in communications and a master's in public service administration. Mr. Martin is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership Academy and a certified instructor through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He worked for NCCHC for six years as the vice president of program development. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Evansville, and has served as a consultant with the Major County Sheriffs of America, the National Sheriffs Association, NCCHC Resources, and the National Association of Counties.
