Description
Many environmental factors affect the health of those living and working in carceral settings. This session will review common hazards described by OSHA and NIOSH and highlight how their lack of monitoring in carceral environments can result in harm to residents and staff.
Educational Objectives- Explain the importance of testing and identifying environmental health hazards in the carceral setting
- Discuss common types of environmental health hazards by learning the clinical signs of disease
- Describe how common jobs undertaken by incarcerated people increase the risk for chronic conditions
