203 Addressing Neurocognitive Decline in Aging
Description
This poster highlights the urgent need to address neurocognitive decline in the aging correctional populations amid the growing prevalence of dementia and cognitive impairment. Barriers such as limited cognitive screening, lack of staff training, and inadequate facility resources hinder timely diagnosis and effective care. This qualitative review analyzes current correctional health protocols and neurocognitive assessment tools to evaluate their collective impact and inform more responsive, equitable frameworks for managing cognitive impairment.
