207 Addressing Health Gaps for Older Incarcerated Women
Description

A significant gap exists in policies that target health literacy and treatment in older incarcerated women. Existing policies cover pregnancy and sexual health, but the intersectionality of older women results in unique needs. This research covers the vulnerability of this group, narrative accounts of menopause in prison, and how both illustrate the need for ethical policy generation at the state and institutional levels. Fifteen potential policy recommendations are evaluated for efficacy and feasibility.
