Ms. Shivangi Sengupta is a fourth-year pre-medical student researcher studying political science and the history and philosophy of science, with three years of experience working and volunteering in correctional health and wellness settings. Ms. Sengupta has research and publication experience spanning breast oncology, translational research, archival research, bioethics, and poetry. Ms. Sengupta is a student member of the American College of Correctional Physicians and the founder of SoteriCare, an organization that provides health education and reentry support to women in correctional facilities. In addition, Ms. Sengupta serves as a student leader for a volunteer program offering arts workshops in juvenile detention centers, undergraduate student government, and a pre-medical fraternity. Ms. Sengupta plans to pursue graduate training in bioethics followed by a medical degree, with the long-term goal of practicing as a correctional physician.
