211 A Narrative Approach to Engaging the Next Generation of Correctional Physicians

This study examined ways to engage future correctional medicine providers through semistructured interviews with 15 premedical and medical students in Ohio. Participants expressed both interest in and hesitation toward careers in this field. Narrative accounts were analyzed to identify strategies for preparing future professionals to work in corrections while highlighting the interests, concerns, and misconceptions of these aspiring physicians regarding correctional health care.
