Dr. Joseph Obegi is a clinical psychologist who has worked in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for the past 15 years. Currently, he monitors suicide prevention efforts at eight prisons in the northern region of California. He provides training and consultation in topics related to suicide and occasionally serves as an expert witness in cases of correctional suicide. He also writes about clinical suicidology. Dr. Obegi completed his education at the California School of Professional Psychology and his postdoctoral training in the department of psychiatry at University of California San Diego.
