Ms. Kim Villareal is a Nurse Coordinator at Cermak Health Services. She has over 34 years of nursing experience delivering care to a variety of specialties such as pediatrics, labor & delivery, dialysis, mental health and over 10 years in corrections. Currently she is the shared governance lead for Cermak Health Services at Cook County, one of the largest single-sized jails in the countries. She took on this role because she believes the power of nursing can make a difference in underserved populations and she is committed to advocating for the health and dignity of incarcerated individuals. Ms. Villareal finds fulfillment in overcoming the challenges of corrections while ensuring patient centered care is the focus in a secured setting.
