Dr. Deborah Schult serves as VitalCore’s Deputy Chief of Behavioral Health. She is a seasoned senior executive with over 30 years’ experience in correctional and healthcare leadership to include both jails and prisons. She is highly regarded as an accomplished executive with a history of administering the Federal Bureau of Prisons correctional healthcare system for a population of 155,000 housed in 122 institutions, to include seven Joint Commission-accredited prison hospitals. She has served as Chief Executive (Warden) at two federal facilities with substantial experience in prison management. She is a licensed psychologist who has treated the incarcerated population and has overseen all clinical behavioral health treatment programs for the Federal prison system. She possesses expertise in the provision of services to special populations to include those with serious mental illness, serious and persistent self-injurious behavior, substance use disorders, the aging, and transgender populations. She holds certification as a CCHP with the NCCHC.
