Sandra Violette, MSW, LADC, Manager of OTP and Mental Health, National Commission on Correctional Health Care, holds a master’s degree in social work and is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has more than 20 years of experience with the Connecticut Department of Correction, where she worked in both jail and prison settings. Most recently, she served as Director of the statewide Addiction Treatment Unit for the Connecticut DOC. In this role, she was instrumental in implementing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) across the system and successfully opening 10 fully licensed opioid treatment programs (OTPs) using all three FDA-approved medications.
