431 Effective Suicide Prevention in Juvenile Facilities*(1)
Description
Florida's juvenile justice programs have had only one death by suicide in the past 22 years. This presentation will describe the effective suicide prevention policies and processes used in these facilities, to include suicide prevention screening, referral, assessment, supervision levels for youth at risk for suicide, and the daily care and treatment of thousands of youth, and discuss current challenges and opportunities for improvement.
