405 Implementation of a Women's Sexual and Reproductive Health Peer Education Program*
Description
HIV patients are at higher risk of certain cancers; HIV infection alters the screening, staging, and surveillance of the cancer patient. Once cancer is detected, staging imaging studies can produce false-positive PETs. The patient's ART therapy may need modification due to interaction with chemotherapy agents. Once treated, surveillance may require specialized imaging. Treating such patients requires close collaborations between HIV specialists and medical oncologists.
Educational Objectives
- Define cancers at increased risk in patients with HIV
- Compare and contrast HPV-related cancers in men and women
- Review screening guidelines for anal cancer
