The Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) population has a higher prevalence of psychological distress than their heterosexual counterparts, making the reentry process more challenging. This presentation sheds light on the community reentry experience of formerly incarcerated SGM individuals and their specific needs.

This talk explores the inventive ways the Community Assistance Referral Program (CARP) approaches reentry, recidivism, and the needs of individuals released from jail, including new ways of identifying and linking resources, providing services, helping individuals stay out of jail, and jump-starting success in the community.
