Name
321 The Benefits of Comprehensive Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder
Description
Between April 2020 and April 2022, about 100,000 people died from overdose, a nearly 29% increase from the previous year and the nation's highest-ever rate of death due to overdose. As part of the medical evaluation for incarcerated individuals with OUD, providers are strongly encouraged to consider medication-assisted treatment, the gold standard in opioid use disorder treatment. This presentation will focus on the benefits of using a comprehensive treatment approach during incarceration and after release to the community.
