321 The Benefits of Comprehensive Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder
Description

Between April 2020 and April 2022, about 100,000 people died by overdose, a nearly 29% increase from the previous year and the nation's highest-ever rate of death due to overdose. As part of the medical evaluation for incarcerated individuals with OUD, providers are strongly encouraged to consider medication assisted treatment, the gold standard in opioid use disorder treatment. This presentation will focus on the benefits of using a comprehensive treatment approach during incarceration and release to the community.
