316 The Relevance of Neuroscience to Corrections
Description

Neuroscience provides invaluable knowledge about the brain and is allied with the social and behavioral sciences. Recently, neuroscience has yielded important and significant contributions to the field of criminal justice and correctional research. This presentation addresses the influence neuroscience could have in correctional settings and explores the common and uncommon neuropsychological conditions that may present within the incarcerated population: learning and intellectual disabilities, sleep disorders, traumas, substance use, traumatic brain injuries, and more.
