This poster reviews the emerging practice of genital piercing among youth in juvenile institutions in Puerto Rico, which poses a risk to both physical and mental health. The poster outlines statistics of reported incidents related to genital piercing, analyzes the participant responses after an educational intervention, and suggests an interdisciplinary treatment plan to modify behaviors and discourage the practice of genital piercing.

• Describe the use of genital piercings, the risks and harmful effects to physical and mental health in young transgressors.
• Propose impact strategies among the interdisciplinary team of the medical area in order to promote the cessation of the use of genital piercing in young transgressors.
