                                    Incarcerated individuals with serious mental health conditions often face co-occurring medical issues. This session reviews key elements of chronic care visits for patients with psychosis and mood disorders, emphasizing collaboration between medical and mental health providers. Topics include minimizing polypharmacy, managing medication interactions, and adopting a patient-centered, team-based approach to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome and improve overall outcomes.

- Identify concomitant medical conditions that place patients at increased risk for serotonin syndrome
 - Describe how to recognize and address common MAT side effects
 - Discuss the increased risk of metabolic syndrome associated with antipsychotics and mood stabilizers
