Transgender people in custody face heightened risks, including harassment, discrimination, and violence, factors that can worsen existing mental health conditions or contribute to new ones. Using findings from qualitative research on these experiences and the impact of limited access to gender-affirming care, this poster demonstrates the need for specialized services and staff training to improve clinical competence and better support transgender individuals navigating systemic challenges.
