Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is prevalent in correctional settings and is often misunderstood. This session reviews core diagnostic features, common clinical presentations, and the role of emotional dysregulation and self-harm. It examines strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce mislabeling, and promote consistent, clear clinical responses. Participants will gain practical approaches to support safer, more effective care for patients, staff, and the broader facility.
