Dr. Guzman Zavala is a post-doctoral fellow at UCLA's Hispanic Neuropsychiatric Center of Excellence (HNCE) - Social Justice Criminal Neuropsychology (SJCN) program. He earned his PsyD. from Azusa Pacific University, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral program. Throughout his doctoral training, Dr. Guzman's primary area of focus has been with bilingual (Spanish and English) and bicultural neuropsychological assessment and intervention. Dr. Guzman completed a 12-month APA-accredited internship with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation - Correctional Health Care Services. Previously, he earned a MS in Clinical Psychology - Marriage and Family Therapy. His thesis research focused on evaluating recidivism rates for individuals charged with a non-violent offense and who were diverted to a community mental health treatment program. Dr. Guzman continues to commit to working with underrepresented and underserved communities.
