Ms. Sheri Nichols-Woodward is a licensed professional counselor supervisor and program manager for the self-harm prevention office at the University of Texas Medical Branch Correctional Managed Care. With more than 25 years of experience in correctional mental health, she provides leadership focused on patient safety and quality care. Ms. Nichols-Woodward began her career in 1997 as a mental health case manager and was promoted to staff psychotherapist in 2000, earning her master’s degree and licensure while working in correctional settings. In 2008, she became a mental health manager and, in 2024, assumed her current role. She led the development of the self-harm prevention office and created a systemwide self-harm prevention policy for UTMB Correctional Managed Care mental health services, contributing to safer and more effective care across the system.
