Dr. Julie Gary is the director of mental health for Prisoner Correctional Health Services of America at the St. Louis City Justice Center. She previously served as the inaugural behavioral health bureau chief for St. Louis, Missouri, where she led initiatives focused on linkage to care, outreach, behavioral health urgent care, and crisis response. A retired Army officer with 20 years of service, she deployed to nine countries in the Middle East. Dr. Gary earned a Bachelor of Science in pre-medicine from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Public Health and PhD in public health from Saint Louis University. She received the Mary Gumble Levy Award and was named a 2023 Woman of Influence by the Women’s Leadership Institute. She serves on multiple boards and committees focused on criminal justice and behavioral health.
