Dr. Joel Andrade is a correctional and forensic mental health professional who has worked in the field since 1997. He holds a PhD and a master’s degree in social work from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work with a concentration in forensics. He has published and presented extensively on topics including psychopathy, violence risk assessment, self-injurious behavior, suicide prevention and intervention, alternatives to segregation units, and gender dysphoria. He is also the editor of The Handbook of Violence Risk Assessment: New Approaches for Mental Health Professionals.
