Amanda Richards, LMHC has been climbing the ranks of correctional health care since she started as an intern in 2012. She has since held the roles of Mental Health Professional, Clinical Coordinator of the Secure Treatment Program, a pioneer program in Massachusetts for incarcerated individuals with severe mental illness and, Mental Health Director. Amanda's clinical interests are focused on trauma, depression, the LGBTQIA+ population, and addiction. Outside of direct patient care, she is a certified compassion fatigue professional responsible for training correctional officers, medical staff, and other mental health professionals in suicide prevention as well as therapeutic supervision protocols. She is currently employed by Wellpath and works at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center, serving as Mental Health Director. Prior to correctional work, she worked for 5 years in residential, recovery based programming.
