Description

Between September 2017 and September 2018, the Jackson County Detention Center experienced three in-custody suicides. This talk will discuss what is known about the factors leading up to these deaths and how the facility modified safety and management strategies to respond. It will go beyond indicators and clinical risk factors into the environmental dynamics that can affect the outcome for people who see no hope or future in their situations.
